Premiership side Bristol Rugby have confirmed they will play Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park as part of both sides’ pre-season preparations.
Richard Hill’s side will swoop down the M5 for Chiefs’ second warm up game on Saturday, August 16, 2008.
Following the success of last year’s pre-season opener, Chiefs will field two sides to play A and B games against Redruth on Saturday, August 9.
The third pre-season fixture will be played against the Cornish All Blacks at Polson Bridge on Saturday, August 23.
Exeter Chiefs begin their new National League One campaign against Esher away on Saturday, August 30, followed by a first home game against Leeds Carnegie on Saturday, September 6.
Exeter Chiefs’ director of rugby Pete Drewett said: “The Redruth game last season gave us an opportunity to see the entire squad in action and it proved very useful to us as coaches. Both Redruth and the Cornish All Blacks are hugely competitive sides and they will give us stern opposition in the lead up to the new season.
“We are very excited at the prospect of playing Bristol. They are a top flight side that is expertly led by Richard Hill. We look for ward to the challenge they will pose us.”
