Dorset & Wiltshire begin RFU Plate Competition campaign

The Dorset & Wilts. senior squad take to the park at Bestwall Wareham on Saturday to lock horns with local rivals Hampshire in the first round of the RFU Plate Competition with a Twickenham appearance the big prize up for grabs.
Team manager John Burgess said: “The squad is made up from a nucleus of players from Bournemouth, Swanage and Wareham and Swindon, but with Salisbury involved in a promotion play off game this weekend their players will not be available until the next Saturday against Sussex at Lewes rugby club”.
“I think that we have a very good chance of kicking off our campaign with a victory against Hampshire and going into the Sussex match on a high”.
The Twin Counties hold their final training session at Salisbury rugby club on Wednesday evening and will be selecting their starting xv after the session is completed.
The Hampshire game kicks off at 3.00pm.
