Your News Supermarine 5 - Richmond 35

Supermarine hosted Richmond on Saturday, which despite the score, was a closely fought game. Marine were caught on the back foot in the first half, Richmond starting quicker from the blocks and running in two tries, displaying some great support play. Marine fought back and made kept a steady ship through the rest of the first half, scrummaging well and making ground in the mauls, but finding it difficult to penetrate the Richmond defence, who were up very quick to mar the Supermarine attack. The second half started better with Marine sneaking in a try with an interception from Steph Watts to put it over the try line. Unfortunately tired legs from Marine. with the bare 15 players on the day and some speedy backs from Richmond saw the away side put away some breakaway tries, their 22 member squad proving its worth.

Supermarine play St May's Old Boys on the 28th Feb at home.
