Wasps fly half Dave Walder will be out of action for up to 4 months after injuring his left leg against Worcester on Saturday. On as a blood replacement, Walder had only been on the field for about 6 minutes when he was tackled and broke his leg. His fibula was broken in 3 places and extensive damage was done to his ankle. He said; "I knew something was wrong when my toes were pointing at 10 o'clock and my heel at 4 o'clock."

Wasps Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan explained his feelings: "We are all very disappointed for Dave, especially as he has been playing probably the best rugby of his career, his loss is clearly a blow as we face the run-in to the end of the season."

Walder will now return to his home in Newcastle where he is to resist putting weight through his leg for 6 weeks.
