Firstly, we would like to welcome everyone back after the festive season and hope everyone is keen to get back into rugby in 2010. With the snow behind us for now, we have plenty of rugby coming up which will be sure to keep all players and supports busy in the coming months.
LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
It was announced on the weekend that after the Aberdeen Wanderers lost to Shetland, the Garioch 1st XV are the Caledonia 2 NE champions. Despite the fact there are two fixtures remaining, we have opened up and unbeatable lead at the top of the league table. Congratulations to all who have been involved with the team this year.
However, the job is not yet done as we have now qualified to play in the promotion league in the coming months. Further details of this league will become available shortly so keep your eye on the website.
Fixture - 16th January 2010
Two weekends ago, Garioch played against Westdyce in a vital league fixture. After a lengthy break over the festive season, it was good to get a game played. Due to the weather conditions, the match was held at Aberdeen University and we were victorious, 62-5.

Cup Fixture - 28th November 2009.
On Sunday the 1st XV travelled to Inverness to take on Craig Dunain in the first round of the cup. After a good start to the match Garioch eventually ran out victors 36-3. A match report will be posted on the website in the next few days.
Thanks must go to all the players who made themselves available despite the fact it was played on Sunday.
This victory means that we will face Mackie FPs on the 6th of February at Kellands Park in what should be a tough local derby. We would encourage everyone to come down and support the 1sts on the day.
Fixture - 30th January 2010
This weekend we will travel to Aboyne to take on Deeside in one of the remaining league fixtures. Having only been beaten once this season, we will be looking to get another victory to maintain this record. Kick-off is at 2pm and we encourage all players and supporters to make the trip for what will be a tough encounter with the third placed Deeside RFC.
Also, after the match we are organising a night out to celebrate winning the league. It would be great to see everyone out enjoying a night together celebrating. Further details will follow. Make sure you keep Saturday night free!
Seniors Meeting - Thursday 28th January, 2010
This Thursday night before training, we will be holding a meeting at the clubhouse for all players involved with the senior club. We would like to take the opportunity to discuss a number of points and set some new goals as we approach the start of the promotion league.
We have had some great results so far and have managed to achieve the initial goals we set at the start of the season, so it would be great to now regroup and aim for some more success for the remainder of the year.
All players, fit or otherwise, are encouraged to attend.
Where: Garioch Clubhouse, Kellands Park
When : Thursday 28th January, 2010 (6:45pm)
