Lee Dickson, Newcastle and England Saxons scrum half has signed for Northampton Saints as a replacement for Mark Robinson. 23 year old Dickson has played over 50 times for the Falcons and made his 1XV debut while still in the club academy and has now established himself as one of the up and coming scrum halves in the country. He has been a regular in the Newcastle team this year and has played 23 times in all competitions this season.
He became a subject of debate when he was selected in both the England A and Scotland A squads a couple of years back. He qualified for both countries through an English mother and a Scottish father.
Dickson said; "Moving to Northampton is going to be a massive development for my career. I know Jim Mallinder and Dorian West quite well through the Saxons. They've done good things with the team this year and i know what they want for the club. Everyone knows how massive Northampton is as a club and playing there will be a good change for me and my career. It will be emotional leaving the Falcons. I've been there since i was 18 and hold Newcastle close to my heart. But the time has come to move on and further my career at the Saints."
