Lichfield and Team Northumbria's England Women rugby stars will be out in force this week, championing the game and also hoping to raise the profile of the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup which takes place in London next year.
The likes of Lichfield's Emily Scarratt and Sarah Hunter and Team Northumbria's Rochelle Clark and Katy Storie are just a few of the England stars that will be joining their Premiership clubs this week to get more young people into the game.
On Sunday October 11th, Lichfield RFC host Team Northumbria in the Premiership at 3pm, and Under 18s cluster side Burfield RFC (Burton & Lichfield RFCs) take on Leicestershire's Jimmies Angels in a curtain raiser match ahead of the main event at 115pm.
The England star from both teams will then lead a question and answer session for the under 18s players and will sign autographs and have their pictures taken.
Claire Antcliffe, RFUW Women's Rugby Development Manager, said: "This is a very exciting season for women's rugby, with the world cup being staged in London in August and September next year. Using matches like this is a terrific way of exposing young women and girls to top flight rugby, as well as helping to raise awareness of the sport.
"These Under 18s players are being given a unique chance to play in front of world class players, and then quizzing them about what it's like to play for their country. This will be a great way of showing the public how accessible women's rugby is and highlighting the high standard that women's rugby is at."
