Supermarine played their third friendly to the start of the season against Cheltenham on Sunday. Cheltenham, who play a league above Marine, provided the home side with good hard competition before their first league game next weekend. Marine dominated possession and scrummaging for most of the game but failed to capitalise due to good defending and pressure by Cheltenham. Marine held Cheltenham back for good portion of the game, putting in some great tackles but the opposition's fast paced backs proved their worth scoring some good breakaway tries. Marine's first try came in the second half, from phased play and a lot of hard work with Leila Johns putting it over the line. Marine fought hard throughout the game, showing good determination and grit, a good sign for next week's league game against Richmond seconds, which will take place at Richmond on Sunday. (Time to be confirmed)
Tries:
Leila Johns x1
