Contrary to the malicious rumours being circulated by the coaching staff of a rival team, who have also attempted to poach our players, Seghill Rugby Club is NOT about to close. Nor does it resort to cheating, which appears to be the latest rmour to circulate.

In fact, after 81 years, the club is flourishing, and as a result, is keen to encourage new players of all ages and abilities to join the club.

There is a thriving junior section, which starts with tag rugby from age 8, and is being expanded to include a colts side next season. With many of the older juniors now moving through to the senior ranks, the future of of rugby at Seghill is looking very bright indeed.

Talented Seghill prop, Joseph McLean, 14, has a very safe pair of hands - whatever the shape of the ball, as he has just been chosen to represent the county at football, as goalkeeper.
