The time has finally arrived for our much awaited first home game of the season this weekend at Kellands Park. The 1st XV will be running on against Peterhead at 3pm and the 2nd XV against Aberdeen University OTC at 2:30pm. With the unfortunate cancellation of our recent fixtures, both sides will be raring to go come Saturday afternoon and will be looking to get off to a positive start. Training has been going very well over the past few weeks with good numbers each night enabling us to be well prepared for the season to start. It would be great to see this continue so that we can play to our potential all season.

‘SEASON LAUNCH'

With Saturday being our first home game, the ‘Season Launch' will be held in the clubhouse at the completion of both fixtures. It is hoped that members from the 1st XV and 2nd XV, as well as their friends, wives, girlfriends and families stay after the game to enjoy our first social event for the year. For those who plan to stay later in the night, we will be holding a pool competition as well as other ‘festivities'. The early form guide sees the Australians looking hard to be beat at pool, but all are welcome to try. Make sure you spread the word to anyone who may be interested as the more we have watching the games and in the clubhouse after, the better.

Game vs Shetland - 19/09/2009

The 19th September sees the Garioch 1st XV travel to Shetland to play a league fixture. The team will be transported by ferry leaving Friday night at 7pm and returning early Sunday morning. In order to plan for this trip, we would appreciate it if people could let us know their availability for that weekend ASAP. We need to send passenger details to the ferry company in advance so it would be good to know who is planning on travelling with us by the end of this week. Keep your eye on the website and your email for further details.

We look forward to seeing you down at training this week to prepare for our first league fixture on Saturday.

Cheers,

Ev and Reg
