Pre-Season

Pre-season continues to go well at Kellands Park every Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7pm. Those who have been attending have shown some great improvements in both fitness and skills and as a result will be raring to go come game time. For those who have yet to make the effort to come down, we encourage you to do so next week, as we have a number of fixtures coming up. It is now time for us to start developing our patterns and set pieces, however, in order to do so we need a full set of both backs and forwards at training. A reminder also that both 1st XV and 2nd XV squads are welcome and encouraged to join us at training.

Please Note: We will be down at Kellands Park at 11 am tomorrow (Saturday 15th August) having a game of ‘touch rugby' for those who are interested.

Pre-Season Fixtures

With only a few weeks remaining until the first fixture of the season against Huntly on the 5th September, we have a couple of pre-season games coming up. The dates to keep free are:

•· Saturday 22nd August - TBC

•· Saturday 29th August - Garioch vs Moray (Away)

There will be fixtures on both of these weekends and we will need everyone available to play so that we can have a couple of solid hit-outs before the season starts. If you are not available on either of these weekends please contact us ASAP so that we can organise the teams to fulfill these fixtures.

Fixture List

The fixture list for the 1st XV season can be found by clicking here.

A number of 2nd XV fixtures have been organized and confirmed for the first half of the season leading up to Christmas. These fixtures are as follows:

12 Sep - Home v Aberdeen University OTC

26 Sep - Home v Aberdeen Wanderers 2nd XV

10 Oct - Home v Ellon 2nd XV

24 Oct - Away v Aberdeenshire 2nd XV

7 Nov - Home v Mackie Academy FP 2nd XV

14 Nov - Away v Gordonians 2nd XV

** Times for these games are yet to be confirmed.

Paul has put in some hard work to ensure some quality fixtures for our 2nd XV have been organised in advance so please keep these dates free. One of the most encouraging aspects of last season was the way that the 2nd XV finished the year playing a number of fixtures and performing well in all of them.

Season Launch

The 12th of September will be the first home game for the club for the 2009/2010 season. Both the 1st XV and 2nd XV will be playing at home that day, so as a result we are organizing a ‘Season Launch' to be held in the clubhouse after the completion of both games. It is therefore hoped that all players from both the 1st XV and 2nd XV can stay around after the game and enjoy the festivities in the clubhouse. It should be a great night and the perfect way to get the season off to a positive start. Please keep this night free and keep your eye on the website for more details.

We look forward to seeing everyone down at training next week to prepare for the game on Saturday.

Cheers,

Ev and Reg.
