Pre-season training has been underway for the past month and there have been some strong improvements made by those who have been attending. With the season kicking off in just over a month on the 5th September, now is the time to come and start training if you haven't already. We will have a tough fixture away against Huntly first up so we need to make sure we are well prepared in order to get our 2009/2010 campaign underway in a positive manner.

Training is at 7pm every Tuesday and Thursday nights at Kellands Park.

Pre-Season Fixtures

A number of pre-season fixtures are being orgainised to prepare us for the upcoming season. Please keep the 15th, 22nd and 29th August free as we are in the process of confirming fixtures for these dates. Further details regarding these games will be posted on the website ASAP.

Player Meeting

There will be a player meeting for ALL players at the clubhouse on Tuesday 4th August at 7pm sharp. We would appreciate it if all 1st XV, 2nd XV and Under 18 players could make the effort to come regardless of injuries or illness, so that we can discuss a number of points regarding the upcoming season. Please let me us know if you cannot attend.

Fixture List

The fixture list for the 2009/2010 season has been published on the SRU website. Click here to see who the Garioch 1st XV will face this season.

2nd XV

A number of 2nd XV fixtures have been organised and confirmed for the first half of the season leading up to Christmas. These fixtures are as follows:

12 Sep - Home v TBA

26 Sep - Home v Aberdeen Wanderers

10 Oct - Home v Ellon

24 Oct - Away v Aberdeenshire

7 Nov - Home v Mackie Academy FP

14 Nov - Away v Gordonians

We would also like to encourage all 2nd XV players to come along to training in order to prepare for these upcoming fixtures.

New RDO

We would also like to take the opportunity to welcome Chris Lawson to the club. He will be working as the club RDO but will also be pulling on his boots for the Garioch Seniors this season.

* * *

We look forward to seeing everyone down at the club to prepare for the 2009/2010 season. We have the opportunity be very successful in both grades, however this will depend on how well we train throughout the season. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Ev and Reg.
