The game started in typical vets style with both teams being bogged down in
the middle of the park and the players not wanting to run to far until there
bodies had fully warmed up. The First half was a tale of handling errors and
missed opportunities on both sides where the players had not played together
(or had not played) as a unit for some time, and the first half finished
scoreless.
In the second half Weymouth made some changes to Ensure that all of the
players that turned up took some part in the game, Including Father and Son
pairing of Prop and Hooker "Tony & Dan Curley". These changes where quickly
paid dividends when after a flowing move involving all of the back row
resulted in "Anthony Cowburn" crossing the line in the corner to give
Weymouth the lead, Veteran fly half "Andy Tanner" Duly missed the
conversation. From the restart Weymouth attacked with renewed vigour and
where rewarded again with a try from " Glyn Arnold" under the posts and Andy
Tanner completed the conversation (could not miss from that range. Paignton
attacked with renewed effort and vigour and sniffed that a score might be on
as the Weymouth legs where beginning to tire and the where duly rewarded
with a try under the posts which was duly converted. Weymouth Scored
another try from " Bill Gates " which was easily converted by "Andy Tanner"
and Just before the final Whistle "Neil Allan" crossed the line to complete
the scoring (was converted) , Final Score Weymouth 26- Paignton 7
