Your News Usasz in Vital USA Clash

Nottingham and USA scrum half Tim Usasz is on the brink of World Cup Qualification, with just one more game against Canada standing in his way.

The Eagles went ahead in the two-match series which will decide which side will take the Americas One slot in the 2011 tournament to be held in New Zealand.

Usasz said: “Who goes through depends on the aggregate score from the two games, so the job is only half done even though we won 12-6 at the weekend.

“The conditions are a bit more what i am used to at around 15 degrees with light rain.

“The starting team is the same so hopefully we can get the job done.”

Usasz takes on the Canadian national team tomorrow (Saturday) in Edmonton.

The 26-year-old will be back with the Nottingham squad next week, despite a tough summer campaign.

He said: “I’m looking forward to being back in Nottingham next week and getting back to training with Glenn (Delaney director of rugby), Jo (Brun strength and conditioning coach) and the rest of the boys.”
