Weston under 13s entertained Machen under 13s who were on tour for the weekend. In a game played in very wet conditions. Machen began the game strongly by running straight angles at the Weston defence, but once Weston had absorbed this pressure, the Weston side began to dominate,
after continued pressure in the opposition’s half Weston flyhalf Ollie Tinknell popped over a drop kick to put Weston on the score board. This was shortly followed by a barnstorming run by prop Sloakes which created a hole in the Machen defence, the ball then went through several sets of hands with full back Gibbs finishing off in the corner.
In the second half Weston continued strongly with surges in to the Machen defence with Shelley, Ford and Beardon clearing up any loose ball and scrum half Morrissey always a thorn in his opposites numbers side. With 10 minutes to go Weston ran in two more scores with dentre Harry
Shepherd powering through the Macken defence to score under the post and left wing Kalem rounded the defence to score in the corner.
