After 3 weeks with new coach Paul, Supermarine Ladies triumphed against a Redruth 15, with an understrength team, 22 - 7. Fast rucking failed the opposition's attempts to disrupt and slow down play. With only 12 players on the pitch due to injury, the competition was fierce, causing constant shifting of positions to maintain the contested scrums. The backs applied constant pressure, forcing errors from the opposition's centres.
Captain Jess Bunce said there has been a shift in the team's game plan, resulting in a very dynamic forward pack. The backs, though missing crucial players, created territorial advantage by thoughtful lines of running, creating overlaps against a full strength opposition. A fantastic display of game awareness, determination and discipline.
