Tows fleetingly had their noses in front but eventually succumbed to the pressure exerted by the hosts to suffer a second defeat in Midlands 1 East.
Playing in front of a vice-presidents crowd, Loughborough produced all the early play and were rewarded with two penalties from full back Jonathan Sykes.
Tows countered and in their first attack into the opposition half, they drove back a scrum for captain Liam Wilkinson to tap down from No 8.
Matt Yuill added the conversion and Tows eased 6-7 ahead. Their advantage was short lived however as the hosts latched on to an interception.
Held up just short, they drove a maul over the line to score. Sykes added the extra points and Loughborough were back in front.
Straight from the kick off, Tows failed to defend and fly half Huw Goodwin collected the host’s second for Sykes to dutifully convert.
Tows turned round 20-7 down and their failure to hold on to the ball cost them dearly as the home side made turn over after turn over.
Somehow they kept themselves in the game and two penalties from Yuill put them within a score and a bonus point.
But they again surrendered possession which led to a third Sykes penalty and sealed a 100% show from both goal kickers.
Next week Tows play their second home fixture of the season against Coalville (KO 3pm).
