Your News Nottingham ready for Moseley test as RWC starts

As the Rugby World Cup gets underway in New Zealand (Friday 9 September), Nottingham’s best will be putting the finishing touches on their preparation for their second match of the season.

The Green and Whites will come up against Moseley at Billesley Common on Saturday 10 September in what will likely prove an exciting contest.

Nottingham’s Director of Rugby Glenn Delaney said: “This game has always been one of the most challenging of the season. Moseley are a very tough side to compete against especially when they are at home.”

Following a narrow loss at the hands of Bedford last week, Nottingham will be determined to turn their fortunes around as they look ahead to a promising season.

Delaney added: “We took away lots of positives from last week’s match such as the way we got back into the game and took the lead, so those will help us going forward.”

With James Alridge (Japan) and Sione Kalamafoni (Tonga) away on international duty for the World Cup, Delaney is confident that the experience they gain will bolster the team: “The lads competing out in New Zealand are doing well. I am looking forward to watching Sione and [former Nottingham player] Ali Williams this Friday in the opening match.”

Following Nottingham’s clash with Moseley (kick-off 3pm) their next match will be played at home against Esher on Friday 16 September (kick-off 7.45pm).
