Saturday sees the start of our Midlands 1 west league campaign with a game v Old Halesonians at home, 3pm kick off. Come along and see our new young squad in action. The gate has been set at £4 but remember, if you are a paid up VP (and you are all listed in the new programme!) you will get free entry. A full list of our new signings is in the match programme available on the day and on our new web site.
We are having a very informal buffet prior to the game at £5 per head and it would be good if we could get a few along to this. Please contact Peter Blakeman if you wish to attend.
The game forms the centre of the GAME ON Weekend and full details are enclosed. The weekend kicks off with the Sporting Dinner (not too late to book but only a few spots remaining), continues with the Old Halesonians game then concludes with the Minis & Juniors registration day on the Sunday, followed by lamb and cous cous followed by the inaugural Kenilworth Barbarians game, kicking off at 1.00pm.
The Kenilworth Barbarians are a new departure for the club and it has attracted 100+ members. They will play about 4/5 games per season and will hopefully help to attract young players to the club as well retain the many decent players that we bring through our system. It would be good if there was a big turnout on Sunday so come long if you can and if you like what you see why do you not buy one or two of the lads a beer. Sunday’s game is in memory of Alex Wallis who tragically died last year. Check out the K Ba Ba’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/118872801529125/
The Rugby World Cup kicks off in a few weeks and we have adjusted our license to allow us to sell alcohol from 8am. Paul will also be doing breakfasts but you need to book in for these. The planned matches that will be on in the early stages of the World Cup are enclosed. Please speak to Paul direct to book your breakfast, be it a bacon buttie or a full English.
Our second game of the season is at Ludlow on 10th Sept and it would be good if we could resurrect the big travelling support that Kenilworth have been renowned for in the past. What better incentive is there than the Ludlow Food Festival which is to run from 9th to 11th Sept and is on when we are there. Details can be found on www.foodfestival.co.uk
The address of the ground is The Linney, Ludlow, SY8 1EE and I understand this is very close to the town centre. There will be a coach leaving for the game and if you want to be on the coach (for a small fee) then please leave your name with Paul.
On the 17th Sept (v Worcester Wanderers at home) there is a Former Players Lunch and if you wish to attend this then please contact Pete Boyle or Geof Jordan.
The Six Nations closing date for applications for tickets is the 7th Oct. You must be a fully paid up member to apply for and receive tickets.
