Leicester Tigers are reportedly close to signing 28 year old Canterbury winger Scott Hamilton after Rupeni Caucau failed to show up for his trial period at the club. The Tigers have wanted to boost their options on the flank and have been looking at several options but it seems that Hamilton could well be the target.
The player has won 2 caps for New Zealand but is better known for his time at the Crusaders playing in the Super 14 Championship. He has played 58 appearances in the Super 14 and played 61 times for Canterbury in the NPC.
However, even if Hamilton signs, Heyneke Meyer refused to rule out the possibility of Caucau arriving too, saying that if he wants to sign for Leicester he has to show some sort of commitment to the club and turning up would be a start.
