THE Green and Whites have confirmed the key re-acquisition of Lee Morley who has signed a new one year deal with the club.
Morley first arrived in Nottingham via the Leicester Tigers Academy in the summer of 2004, following the Green and White's promotion to National Division One. The player quickly became a mainstay in what was widely recognised as one of the best packs in the league.
During his five years with the Green and Whites, the lock played 117 games, scoring 8 tries alongside Nic Rouse in what was one of the most feared second row partnerships in the division
The 28-year-old left the club in 2009, heading to Sydney where he played for Eastern Suburbs Rugby Club whilst developing his teaching career.
Speaking on the player's return, Director of Rugby Glenn Delaney said: "We're really pleased to be welcoming Lee back to Nottingham.
He's an experienced, seasoned and dedicated professional who, alongside guys like Nic Rouse, will provide a real platform in moving forward to where we want to be.
"Lee's played lots of rugby for me before and has captained the club in the absence of an injured Craig Hammond. He's been an integral part of this club and we're delighted he's made the decision to want to come back to Nottingham."
Ahead of his arrival back in the UK, second rower Morley said: "I am lucky enough to still have strong ties at Nottingham so when the idea started to gain momentum I was delighted that the Club were keen to get involved and get me back playing here.
"There certainly seems to be a real buzz around the Club at the moment and that's something I'm very excited to be a part of.
"It is going to be great to link up with a few old faces again along with a few new younger ones and I think we should all expect good things from this group of players for next season."
"I have really enjoyed my time in Australia and learned a lot from my experiences playing southern hemisphere rugby both with and against some of the best players in Australia.
The signing of Morley follows the earlier announcements confirming the return of Nic Rouse and Matt Parr, plus newcomer Juan Pablo Socino.
