Your News Premiership lock makes emphatic return to Nottingham Rugby

PREMIERSHIP star Nic Rouse has agreed an exciting return to Nottingham Rugby as part of a fresh 2-year deal.

The 30-year-old first joined Nottingham in 2006 when he was awarded 'Player of the Year' in his first season, before leaving for Premiership side Sale Sharks in 2010.

The lock previously made more than 120 appearances with the Green and Whites after joining from the Bath Academy.

The second rower, who has also had spells at Caerphilly, Plymouth, Manchester and London Irish, was named in the National One 'Dream Team' twice by the Rugby Times in his years with the Green and Whites.

Nottingham chief Glenn Delaney hailed the return of former England Counties man.

"He's a great player with great Premiership experience," he said. "Nic was a mainstay of the squad during his several years with Nottingham and naturally we're delighted to have him return."

Speaking after the deal was reached, Rouse said: "It was a easy decision. I'm massively excited by a return to Nottingham Rugby.

"I've learned and improved so much in my time with Sale Sharks, but I couldn't turn down the opportunity to try and aspire to that level with the players and coaching team at Nottingham, many of whom I already have so many good memories with.

"I can't wait to rise to the challenges and get stuck in with the guys, not to mention getting back to my home in Nottingham, a sports mad City that deserves top level rugby."
