Your News Nottingham sign top young winger

THE Green and Whites are pleased to announce that top youngster Andrew Savage has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 23-year-old winger, who also boasts a reputation as a skilful fullback, achieved a century of both career points and appearances in the 2010-11 campaign.

The highly-rated player joined the side as a teenager and quickly established himself as one of Glenn Delaney’s key men in an area of the field packed with talent for the Meadow Lane club Nottingham chief Delaney commented on the signing, stating that Savage would continue to play a key role in the years ahead.

He said: “Andrew has been a mainstay of the squad for the last four or five years and picked up massive experience in the league.

“He’s a player who’s just got better and better and is a key man in the back three alongside players of the calibre of David Jackson. We’re very pleased he’s committed the next couple of years to Nottingham as we look to grow as a club.”

Savage said: “I’m really pleased to have signed for another two years. I’ve got a good relationship with Glenn and the coaching staff, so I’m really looking forward to continue working with them in the future.

“I’m very excited by the team Glenn is putting together for the 2011-12 campaign and incredibly glad to be a part of it.”
