The Rugby Football Union has decided to cancel the League Champions Cup competitions, the finals of which were due to be played at Twickenham Stadium on May 8.
The decision, taken following consultation with the RFU Competitions Sub Committee and the four Divisional Organising Committees, was made because of the difficulties in completing the league programme caused by a backlog of fixtures.
“The decision is based on the difficulties faced by Divisional Organising Committees in ensuring matches are played in good time as a result of the severe weather across the country this winter,” said Tom Brewis, RFU Competitions Administrator.
“There will therefore be no matches at Twickenham Stadium on May 8.”
