"NOTTINGHAM are prepared to go the full distance in an 80 minute battle on Saturday”, according to hot-shot kicker James Arlidge.
The key Green and Whites star, who has been instrumental in the club’s high scoring record since joining from Newport Gwent Dragons last July, believes that Saturday’s match could set Nottingham well on their way.
With Nottingham returning to training this week and Glenn Delaney set to pick his first XV from a fully-fit squad, the phase 2 opener is set to be a high-profile contest for the Meadow Lane club.
Kiwi Arlidge said: “There’s no doubt we will need to go out and give a complete 80 minute performance on Saturday.
“In the play-offs every team raises their game and we’re going to be no different, we know what’s needed.
“London Welsh are bound to be sore after we beat them at the end of phase one, we’ll need to keep our focus and make sure we get the right result.
“After six months in the league we know that we’re practically starting afresh again now, a win would really kick start things for us and we know we can step up to the challenge.”
Japan International Arlidge has remained one of the Championship’s top scorers throughout the 2010-11 campaign and recently signed a new two-year with Nottingham to keep him in the Midlands for the foreseeable future.
