NOTTINGHAM return to training today as they begin their build up for their Premiership Play-off opener with London Welsh on Saturday.
The Green and Whites enjoyed a week of rest following their 45-0 B&I Cup victory over Esher, with Director of Rugby Glenn Delaney expecting his side to be in top shape for the upcoming 6 weeks.
“The rest week came at the right time for us, it gave us a chance to regroup following the winter run of games and I know the guys will return today feeling very eager to get out and play.
“The next six weeks will provide a huge test for us as a squad, every performance will count and we need good momentum early on.”
The East Midlanders ended the first stage of the competition with a confidence boosting victory over London Welsh and Delaney remains adamant his side can progress to the semi-finals despite being pitted against tough Pool A adversaries.
Speaking ahead of the team regrouping this morning, Delaney said: “We’re in a very tough group, Worcester have been the form team all year and go into phase two as favourites, but Bristol will be looking to kick start things and London Welsh will also have high expectations.
“We know what challenges await us and it’s going to be a special time of the year for everyone here at the club, especially the fans, who can expect a very exciting period of the season.”
“Our home games are always key and we always look for a result at Meadow Lane, but we have a good chance to start as we mean to go on this weekend. We know that Saturday’s game could be the ideal springboard into that period.”
Fans can join the play-off action at Meadow Lane a week on Sunday (March 20th, 3pm kick off) when Bristol come to the Midlands for Premiership Play-off 1! Supporters can purchase 4 tickets for £45 in advance by calling the club office on 0115 9070070, while season ticket holders can bring a guest on the night for just £10!
Avid fans of the Green and Whites not travelling down south this Saturday can also catch the action from London Welsh vs Nottingham on Sky Sports 2 from 12.30pm.
