Your News Premiership prop set for an emphatic return to Nottingham

LOOSE-HEAD PROP Matt Parr will be making a sensational return to Nottingham after signing from Saracens on a two year contract starting from the 2011-12 season.

The 28-year-old former Sale and Leicester player joined the Premiership outfit last season and will return to the East Midlands as he looks to help bolster the Green and Whites in the new campaign.

6ft 2inch Parr was named in the 2009-10 Championship team of the year after being noted for his high-work rate and powerful scrummaging during his time under Nottingham chief Glenn Delaney.

Speaking on the return of Parr, Green and Whites Director of Rugby Delaney said: “Matt is an outstanding player who will bring great experience to a key position.

“We know he’ll bring massive strength and work rate to the side and we’re very pleased to be bringing him back to Meadow Lane after gaining rich Premiership experience with Saracens.

We look forward to welcoming back to action here in Nottingham as we look to push on and develop as a squad.”

Ahead of his move, Parr said: “I’m really happy to be heading back and bringing the new skills I have learnt back to Nottingham as the club looks to push for Premiership promotion.”
