NOTTINGHAM rugby neighbours Paviors RFC and Southwell RFC will be sharing the Twickenham spotlight with England and France on Saturday (February 26, 2011) when their representatives attend the RBS Six Nations Championship International as guests of the Rugby Football Union.
The reason for the pair’s attendance is the formal presentation of plaques to celebrate the acquisition by the two clubs of the RFU’s Whole Club Seal of Approval accreditation, a major landmark in the development of every club which confirms their elevated status among the best-run organisations in the country.
The Whole Club SoA assesses every aspect of a club’s infrastructure and was created two years ago to take the Junior & Youth SoA accreditation to a more advanced level. It is an even more challenging benchmark, but across the game clubs are signing up to both disciplines and putting in place procedures and programmes that deliver the highest levels of safety and support to anyone joining a rugby union club.
Paviors, who were judged to be Notts, Lincs & Derby’s outstanding Whole Club SoA entrant last year, will be represented by President Ken James and Safeguarding Officer Maggie James, while Committeeman Dave Cureton will be collecting the SoA plaque from RFU President Richard Appleby.
