This performance showed that the Worcester Wild Ones under 12s have
excellent character, aswell as raw talent. The Wild Ones, for some
reason, have been very slow starters this season, but this was by far
their worst start. After 15 minutes they were 21 pts in arrears. The
Burton backs were full of pace, power, and sheer size, and quickly
turned possession into points. However, when the Wild Ones woke up, and
their blitz defence started to give the opposition no time on the ball,
and more importantly space, Worcester began to turn things around. With
the forwards giving the Burton pack a torrid time for the whole match,
especially in the rucks and open play, the Wild Ones started to
dominate. With great handling skills, and fine technical ability, they
scored tries at regular intervals, throughout the remaining 45 mins of
play. Kian Moysey, who had a fine game at outside centre, Oli Gore,
Willem Stanley, Max Smith, Will Tibbitts, and George Wooton all scored
one each. Jack Dutton, an athletic ball carrying forward, grabbed a
brace. Oli Gore & George Wooton kicked two conversions each, and Cameron
Hunter converted four to complete a 56 pts to 21 pts victory. Again,
this was a great advert for mini and junior rugby.
