MILLWALL coach Dave Roberts has hailed the club's "never surrender" motto after the team overturned a half-time deficit to romp to victory on Saturday.
The visitors trailed Essex Division 1 rivals Brightlingsea 10-5 at the break after concedeing a try on the stroke of half-time.
But in the second-half Millwall bounced back with three tries to no reply from Brightlingsea.
"This game was a test of our character," said Roberts.
"We found ourselves behind after letting in a try just before half-time
"But to the players' credit, some hard words were spoken at half-time.
"The guys went out there and they got the job done.
"It was hard fought and I saw a team fighting for everything for 80 minutes, no matter what the scoreline was.
"We stuck to our motto of 'never retreat, never surrender'.
"It was a pleasing win in the end and we achieved the bonus point as well."
Man-of-the-Match Ron Hamilton notched up a brace of tries while Andrew Bates and Adam Shields also touched down for Millwall.
