Verwood Rugby Club have already begun their training sessions for the new 2008/2009 season. In a determined attempt to step up last season’s excellent finish towards league promotion, Director of rugby Mike Cockram and head coach Jim McGuffie have decided to increase the training sessions to twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.00p.m.at the Potterne Park ground.
Excellent attendance has been experienced in the first two weeks and some prospective new playing members have already been welcomed to the sessions. Verwood RUFC is very much a family orientated club with a number of social events arranged throughout the summer including a “beach BBQ” and touch rugby on 17th July at Branscombe Dene – all are welcome – tickets are just £5.00 per person.
