The Wild Ones split up their squads for this weekend, and still had too
much power, flair, and a high skill level, for both clubs that they
played against. Worcester visited Camp Hill and were up against a side
that were very big, but lacked the pace, and intensity, of the Wild Ones
forwards. A strong scrummage, and varied lineout, enabled the backs to
have plenty of ball. They spread the ball wide at every opportunity, and
caused mayhem in the Camp Hill defence. Joe Symonds was first to cross
the whitewash, soon followed by Callum Hadden. Just before half time ,
after a series of powerful drives by the forwards, Jack Dutton crashed
over. After half time the Wild Ones conceded a quick try, which spurred
them on to dominating the second half. Further tries by Alex Forrestor,
Bradley Smith, and JJ Hunt, completed the Wild Ones scoring. On the full
time whistle Camp Hill reduced the arrears, but it was too little, too
late.
Dudley Kingswinford visited Worcester, and they were man for man, at
least a stone heavier, and half a foot taller, but similar to the Camp
Hill match, they could not cope with the physicality of the Wild Ones
forwards, and the pace, and dexterity, of the Wild Ones backs. Credit to
Dudley for keeping their heads up for the whole match, as they were
simply swept aside under an avalanche of tries. Willem Stanley scored 3,
Sam Hughes crossed the line twice, as did Will Tibbetts. Not to be
outdone by the backs, forwards Oli Pattersea and Sam Long, crashed over
from close range, and after fine approach work Matt Tolley barged his
way over. Cameron Hunter and Jacob Matthews also scored fine tries, and
Oli Gore completed the scoring with a fine individual effort. Sam Hughes
kicked the majority of the conversions, superbly, ably assisted by Oli
Gore and George Wooton.
